AARON KINGSBERRY-DIRECTOR OF BANDS |
Mr. Aaron Kingsberry is currently entering his fourth year as Director of Bands at Northside High School where he is responsible for the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Combo, Marching Monarchs, and Percussion Ensemble. Mr. Kingsberry.
Previously Mr. Kingsberry was the Director of Bands at North Pitt High School in Bethel, North Carolina from 2012-2019 where under Mr. Kingsberry’s direction, North Pitt grew from 17 students in his first year of teaching to 120 music students in the middle of his sixth year. Also while at North Pitt he was been named North Pitt High School’s 2016-2017 Teacher of the Year, WITN’s Teacher of the Week and has received numerous other local awards and grants to build that band program. Mr. Kingsberry is a 2012 graduate of East Carolina University and holds a Bachelors degree in Music Education. While at ECU, he participated in many of ensembles that included the ECU Marching Pirates, Symphonic Band, Percussion Ensemble and Percussion Players. During his musical studies at ECU from 2007-2012, Aaron studied percussion under Jonathan Wacker and Chris Nappi. Mr. Kingsberry is currently entering is 9th year as Assistant Drumline instructor for the East Carolina University Marching Pirates where he helps manage and instruct the Drumline and their social media and also manages also social media platforms for the Marching Pirates. During his high school years of 2003-2007, Mr. Kingsberry was in a band of 175 under the direction of retired band director Richard Bergman of Herndon High School in Herndon, Virginia and Stacey Loggins, percussionist of the US Navy Band and ECU Graduate. Mr. Kingsberry's professional and social affiliations are North Carolina Bandmasters Association, North Carolina Music Education Association, Kappa Kappa Psi Honorary Band Fraternity, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. |
HUNTER DUGIE-DRILL INSTRUCTOR |
Hunter Dugie is a full-time Drill and Visual Designer for high school and college marching bands across the country. With over 10 years of experience in the Marching Arts as a performer, educator, and designer, Hunter has worked with programs ranging from 15 performers to 300+ performers. During that time he has been on the instructional staff for Vandegrift High School marching band where they most recently were the 2019 BOA Grand National Champions.
As a Texas Native, Hunter grew up surrounded by and involved with extremely hard-working organizations which pushed him to audition and earn a position at The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps. From 2014 through 2018, Hunter served the corps in multiple capacities first as trumpet, and ultimately as Drum Major for his last 3 seasons. While he was marching, he was also starting his company Hunter Dugie Design, LLC which he currently owns and operates full-time. While starting his company, he also attended and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where he received a bachelor's degree in communication studies. The driving force behind all of Hunter's actions is the motto "What starts here changes the world!" He strongly believes that the performing arts truly are changing the world, one person at a time! |
